The Ballad of Dood & Juanita (Indie) Sturgill Simpson
The Ballad of Dood & Juanita (Indie)
Sturgill Simpson
Sturgill Simpson has been extremely productive in 2020 and 2021. The Ballad of Dood & Juanita is his third album in 12 months, and it is his most ambitious project to date. The album is inspired by classic concept albums, such as Willie Nelson's 'Red-Headed Stranger', and was written and recorded in less than a week. The record tells an American story from the Civil War era about a couple who are torn apart by violence and reunited by love.
On the album, Sturgill has had help from the same ace musicians who were involved in the two Cuttin 'Grass albums.
