Mitchell Ayres
Many people remember the Mitchell Ayres Orchestra as the fine television orchestra that recorded with and supported vocalist Perry Como on his popular 1960's TV show, but Ayres began conducting for various singers including the Andrews Sisters and Frank Sinatra during World War II. This classic 1958 audiophile recording features the orchestra playing a selection of timeless romantic ballads including "The Nearness of You," "How Deep Is the Ocean," There's a Small Hotel" and other greats. Featured on the album is long time Ayres musician Harry Terrill on saxophone. All selections newly re-mastered.
