H-bomb F Ferguson
Back when he waxed these four sides for the fledgling Harlem-based Atlas label in 1951, Robert "H-Bomb" Ferguson's lusty shout could easily have been mistaken for that of leather-lunged jump blues luminary Wynonie Harris, who's "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "All She Wants to Do Is Rock" brought him stardom and paced the R&B charts in the late '40s. H-Bomb was not just any imitator however, he proved through explosive live performances that he was a force to be reckoned with, as these rare early sides indicate; blurring the lines between rhythm and blues and early rock n' roll. Classic recordings, newly re-mastered.
