Simone
Rue De Tanger
Composed of Pierre-Yves Le Jeune on double bass, compositions and arrangements, of Laurent Derache, rising star of the jazz accordion, and of a young Franco-Turkish percussionist, Dogan Poyraz, seen notably alongside Bachar Mar-Khalifé and Ibraïm Maalouf, Rue De Tanger invites us to travel to a dream land where the accordion meets the drums of the east. Finalists of the «La Défense» national jazz competition in 2019, the trio explores a refreshing, demanding and explosive jazz-musette where virtuoso improvisations are used for an ambitious and clear narration. Following Simone's silhouette, the trio goes up the thread of crossed destinies and tries to
reconstruct, by fragments, a biger picture of our contemporary society. Thus, the album develops multi-ethnic musics which speaks of memory, exile but also our reluctance to follow our most intimate convictions.
Included 7 titles : 5 compositions and 2 covers by Jo Privat, arranged by Pierre-Yves Le Jeune.. On «Denya Quoi!» Sofian Saidi, the emblematic singer of the new Raï scene, came to add his voice for a new creation of Algerian java !
