Hailing originally from Cape Town and now settled in Manchester, Alex Blaxx is a 21 year-old house producer on the rise. A resident at the respected Drop The Mustard night in Manchester, his Soundcloud page popped onto the radar of Buzzin’ Fly’s Ben Watt earlier this summer. “I loved the ‘Raw Demo Mix’ of ‘The Evening News’ so much I played it the same night on my BBC6 Music 6Mix show,” says Ben. “It got more response from listeners than almost any other track. Just sounded classic but fresh.” Such was the vibe of this original ‘Raw Demo Mix’ that it was kept for the A-side. Alex has also provided a straighter house groove version for the flip. The EP is completed by another original track, ‘Brian Fantana’.
