Charles Buford Lowell, after having served in the CIA and its clone the IRI for years, retired to the quiet resort community of Sunriver, Oregon. Charles had recently remarried after the murder of his wife by IRA terrorists while he was on a mission in Ireland. He recently had engineered the destruction of the Muslim shrine of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. He is recalled against his wishes for duty by the IRI to assassinate the Prime Minister of Israel. He tries to disappear and the story develops in a background of adventure and intrigue.
