Sometimes what is not probable becomes possible. This was true for a few people with nothing in common, but unusual circumstances brought them together in a small town near Marfa, Texas. Jack Strickland is a young cowboy with a dream to reopen the town's movie theater, now closed for many years, with Giant, a classic Hollywood film that was shot in Marfa in1955 with Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. Dan, the old man who owns the theater is not willing to go along with Jack's dream, Sally Harper owns a most unusual shop selling buttons, Jack's has a girlfriend whose father hates him and Hardy Weller, perhaps the most eccentric among them, is a German hoping to discover the secret behind the famous Lights of Marfa whom many believe are extraterrestrial ships. This is a story about making the impossible possible even in the most unlikely places and believing there is something beyond ourselves.
