Miss Lucy's Ghost is about a wealthy diamond broker, Chandler Rivers, who discovers his wife and best friend are having an affair. He enlists the aid of a local witch doctor to devise a plan, and arranges their accidental deaths. The local detective, Grady Pruunes, however, believes that they were murdered. When he begins to close the net, Rivers uses his wealth and clout in the county, to halt the investigation. It seems Rivers has escaped prosecution. Then eighteen year old Jamey Hart moves to town and has dreams involving Miss Lucy, a missionary who was his friend and mentor before her death. Naturally he is frightened, but she provides information to locate a kidnapped boy, and prevent the murder of two innocent people. Rivers fears she might help Jamey uncover evidence to help detective Grady, so he sets his sights on killing him, and soon. Will he succeed, or can Miss Lucy keep Jamey safe? Add a little romance for Jamey, a small Southern town, some 1960's nostalgia, and there you have it.
