Our main character, Mandy, is faced with this decision and she chooses passion, but it leads her down a road that is difficult, where she feels like giving up, but doesn't quite let go. Her story is a combination of both entertainment value, as well as the freedom to express topics that have always been claimed untouchable. She undertakes change, depth, selfishness, sexuality and raw personal conflict, allowing readers to connect with her on a level that society may deem unacceptable. As citizens following societal norms, we are encouraged to play sheep, to copy what others do; however, as human beings those actions repulse every nerve in our bodies. Human beings are selfish, sexually confused, deep and conflicted, we cannot stay focused on one result for too long, and we cannot settle for one way of life without dipping our toes into new experiences. Mandy is given these raw personal conflicts as she is planning her best friend's wedding and left feeling used, abused and thrown away. She takes on all battles thrown her way, and in this case, she has no one to thank but herself for the experiences that she faces.
