A national election looms in the U. S. The incumbent is under extreme pressure, behind in the national polls by around 7%. Of course, the electoral college favors the GOP, so the certainty of the outcome is low. As well, the economy is struggling to revive, leaving millions of families struggling mightily. The virus, politics, and economics are all vying at this critical point in the pandemic and the nation. Mixed in with that volatile mix is simple human nature, and in particular confirmation and recency biases.
